The article describes the problem of the Christological interpretation of the prophetic predictions of the ruler. Christians used to interpret those texts as a prediction of Jesus Christ throughout the centuries. The historical-critical method of exegesis shows that those OT predictions can be well understood on the background of the history of Israel without Christological meaning. The modern Christian interpretation should take into consideration the fact that the Christological meaning is not “objective” and first meaning of the text. The Christian interpretation should look for new methods of the Christological approaches to the text which won’t be in conflict with its original meaning and historical-critical exegesis.
