The number 666 used in Revelation 13,18 is one of unclear biblical passages but often interpreted. In the history of exegesis a lot of interpretations of this number were given. The political and religious events always had a big influence into the interpretation of this symbol. Unfortunately, methods used by authors usually were not satisfactory. Names were often written incorrectly, biblical text was changed (to 616, 646). There is no agreement between scholars what person was symbolized by a number 666. Many of contemporary scholars think there is a reference to Nero or emperor Domitian.
