This article gives a response to the biblical minimalism point of view – a trend in biblical scholarship that undermines historicity of the Old Testament relations about era of patriarchs and Israel monarchy. Author offers a short historical sketch of the debate citing minimalist’s arguments. They are in turn confronted with some archeological data that are presented in favor of historicity of Israel monarchy. Among some textual artifacts – like Mesha Stele or Tel Dan Stele – Israelite monumental strongholds are taken into consideration.
In the light of the material collected by the author minimalist’s point of view requires revision.
